AppLingo respects your privacy. This policy explains how the app handles information and how you can contact us.

1. Information we collect

AppLingo does not require an account and does not collect personal profile information such as your name, phone number, address, or precise location.

To provide app lookup, the app processes an app name or App Store link that you enter. It may also read text from your clipboard to determine whether it contains an App Store link; that content is used only when opening the corresponding app listing.

For installation registration and launch statistics, the app creates a random installation identifier and stores it in the device’s Keychain. The raw identifier stays on the device. A SHA-256 hash of that identifier is sent to our service, together with the app identifier, a request timestamp, a random request value, and a request signature. The hashed identifier is persistent and can link launch requests from the same installation; it is not an advertising identifier.

2. How information is used

We use this information only to provide app search, open App Store listings, and display translated content. The app does not use your searches, favorites, or clipboard content for advertising, profiling, or cross-app tracking.

Installation registration and launch data are used to record installations and app launches. Search terms, favorites, and clipboard text are not included in these launch-statistics requests.

3. Favorites

Apps you save as favorites are stored locally on your device so that you can return to them later. We do not upload those favorites to our servers.

4. Third-party services and network requests

When you search for an app, open its details, or switch storefronts, the app connects to Apple’s public App Store services to retrieve the relevant listing information. Apple’s handling of information through its services is governed by Apple’s own privacy policy.

The app uses system-provided translation features to display translated text. Availability and data handling for translation may be subject to your device, language settings, and Apple’s applicable terms.

The app also sends installation-registration and launch-statistics requests to our service at api.zhangleme.hk.cn. As with other network services, the receiving server receives the source IP address as part of the connection.

5. Analytics, advertising, and tracking

The app uses our own installation-registration and launch-statistics service as described above. It does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs and does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA).

6. Contacting us

You may contact us with questions or requests concerning installation and launch data. Please do not include sensitive information in your message. If you email us, we receive the information you choose to include in your message and use it only to respond to your question, feedback, or support request.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app, our practices, or legal requirements change. The updated version will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
